I work with fiction and nonfiction writers at any stage of the process and work on book length projects as well as shorter works, such as an article or chapter. I love helping writers find success in their projects and pride myself on doing so with clarity, respect, and kindness.

What I can do for you
Whether you are looking to increase the action in an edge of your seat thriller, fine tune the wording in your narrative, or create a personal statement that will catch the eye of prospective colleges, I can help.

While each project is unique and based off the needs of the author, in general I will read the work, and write up a detailed response. For a piece of fiction, these comments would address structure and plot, character development, setting and world creation, pace and readability as well as notes addressing specific author questions and concerns. For a piece of nonfiction, these comments would address the flow of the narrative, clarity, readability and pace, as well as addressing specific author questions and concerns. A more in-depth reading of a text with more detailed page notes will take longer. A more edited work could take less time. Expectations and time estimates will be addressed before the reading begins.
I work with authors of any age and at any state in their careers. Authors with whom I’ve worked, both poets and prose writers, have won prizes. I also help prospective college students with their personal statements.

Fees
Fees vary according to the type of work needed, the stage of process, the time frame of the assignment, and the degree of expertise required.

Manuscript evaluation – 60 hr

This includes but is not limited to, ghostwriting, journalism, proposals, grants, public relations, sales, medical, technical, travel, and trade.

Longer Manuscripts
For book length manuscripts (around 80,000 to 90,000 words) that are at least a second draft, it will take me an average of 20 hours to read the manuscript, make notes, and write a detailed summative letter with my comments.
